Welcome to Wildwood!
A  relational forest school

At Wildwood, we believe children learn best in relationship - with themselves, with trusted adults, with their peers, and with the living world around them. We don't just teach kids about nature, we teach them to be in relationship with it.

This is the heart of the Relational Forest School model: connection as the foundation for deep learning. Through attunement, curiosity, compassion, and reciprocity, children come to know themselves as part of the natural world, not separate from it. All while building the confidence, resilience, and whole-body awareness that only comes from real time outdoors.

Our programs

As pioneers of forest school in this area, we've learned that real growth doesn't happen in a crowd - it happens in relationship. That's why our class sizes are intentionally small - the smallest around - and why every child at Wildwood is truly known and supported.

Ages 3-4. Our gentlest program, for the youngest explorers just beginning to find their place in the natural world. Seedlings blends free play, seasonal nature lessons, storytelling, and hands-on creativity, all at a slower pace with a wonder-filled vibe.

Ages 4-6. For kids ready to dig deeper into the wild. Wildlings blends child-led free play, earth science lessons, seasonal crafts, and mindful moments, woven through the rhythms of the changing seasons. Children learn to trust themselves in the natural world.

Ages 7-10. For kids ready to test their skills in the wild and form enduring friendships! Earthlings practice knot tying, whittling, and shelter building, alongside their own sit-spot and nature journaling practices. When these nourishing habits are planted early, they stay for life!

"We love love love Wildwood Forest School! It has really helped us to venture outside a bit more and has been a great outlet for my son who loves to explore. The teachers are absolutely incredible-they are the most kind, patient, and loving people. My son only ever has good things to say about class and always looks forward to going. I know he's learning the best things in the best way possible-through play and exploration. I honestly recommend forest school to everyone I know!

"Wildwood is the best thing that’s happened for us! My son gets excited each time it’s the day to go to Forest school. We love each of the teachers, the kids, the parents, and just the overall energy of the community. They strike the perfect balance of adventure, play, and learning, and always do it in a calm and mindful way. I’d recommend it to anyone, it’s been rejuvenating, fun, and even medicinal for our family!"
